In My Eyes - MithRoss - Chapter 6

-Barney's POV-

"So guys, what's our plan?"

I shut to door to my office after Tim,  Adam and I enter. They sit down, as do I.

"Well, we need to, set them up somehow. Get them somewhere alone." Adam says, while staring at the ceiling.

I nod, then look at Tim. He sighs, but then grins.

"I think I have an idea..."

We discuss the plan, and from what Tim explained, it was almost guaranteed to work. We decide to carry out the plan the next day, when we didn't have to come into the offices because it was Sunday.

-Ross' POV-

-The Next Day-

"Hey Ross and Max, wanna go out with Adam and Barney tonight?"

We were all sitting at the table, eating breakfast later than usual because we had the day off. I was sitting next to Max, while Tim sat across from us.

"I mean, I got nothing else to do, so sure." I reply, then look at Max, waiting for his response.

"Sure. What time?"

"We were thinking four. When it starts to get dark out. We were thinking of going to the mall then to the park or something afterwards." Tim says, while getting up to put his bowl in the sink.

"I'm down."

We spend the next few hours watching T.V., waiting for four to arrive. An hour before it does, I decide to get ready. I shower, then change into some casual clothes. I grab a jacket, put on my shoes, and stand by the door as I wait for Max and Tim.

"Ready to go?" Max asks, grabbing his car keys. I nod as he opens the door. We head out of our apartment, and to the parking lot below.

We take the drive to the mall, where Adam and Barney were waiting for us. 

"Let's head to the arcade." Adam tells us, as he walks through the entrance. We walk for a few minutes, then arrive at the arcade.

"Max and Ross, take some coins. Knock yourselves out." Tim hands us a bag of coins, then runs after Adam and Barney.

"So, what do you want to do first?" I ask Max, who was looking around at the games. He stopped at a claw machine, which was full of stuffed toys.

"Let's do this. Look, there's a narwhal. Hand me a few coins." Max inserts the coins into the machine, then starts the game.

He attempts to latch on to the narwhal, but as soon as he lifts the claw, it falls out of his grasp. He groans as I hand him some more coins.

For a few minutes, Max keeps attempting to get the toy. I assure him that I didn't need it, but he wouldn't listen. He continued to try and grab it, each time getting closer and closer. Finally, after what must have been ten or so tries, the toy makes it into the box where you could retrieve it. We both cheer as Max takes it out, then hands it to me.

I grin as my face heats up, and I hug the narwhal tight. Max grins at me, then I proceed to hug him.

"Having fun?"

I jump to hear the voice of Adam, who had been right behind us. I let go of Max, then turn to him in disappointment and embarrassment.

"Y-Yeah. Max got me this!" I hold up the toy so that Adam can see it, and he laughs. I bite my cheek as I hold it against my chest.

"Anyways, we're going to go to the park now. You guys coming or not?" Adam starts to walk away.

"Yea! Come on Ross!" Max takes my hand, and we run after Adam. I hold his hand tight, and in my other hand I clutch the narwhal.

When we arrive at the park, the stars are out, and there's not a single cloud in the sky. It was beautiful, considering the fact that the clouds had littered the sky almost every other night. 

Somehow, Max was still holding my hand. My body started to get warmer, and I could feel my heart beating faster than usual. We walk around the park, which had a gigantic lake in middle.

After awhile, Adam, Barney and Tim were so far ahead that it was just me and Max.

-Max's POV-

I clutched Ross' hand as hard as I could, so that I would never have to let go. His hand was warm, and he seemed pretty content. This made me a lot less nervous, and I was really enjoying it.

"The lake is so pretty." Ross says, looking at the lake as we walked.

"It sure is." I reply. 

We spot a nearby bench which was facing the lake, and decide to sit down. Ross leaned on my shoulder, and I leaned on his head. We sat there in silence for what felt like forever, looking at the night sky and the beautiful lake.

"H-Hey Max?"

"Yea?"

"I, Uh, have started to feel really weird around you lately."

My heart starts beating a million times faster.

"What do you mean?" I ask, closing my eyes.

"Well, um, I always feel really warm and tingly around you, and my heartbeat increases in pace. It's really really weird."

I have no response. I had no idea what to do. Was he confessing to me? He seemed completely clueless as to what he was feeling, and I wanted to cry.

But my next move was something that I had to do, something that I longed to do. I lift up my head, then turn to face Ross. I then lift his chin so that he's looking me in the eyes, and move my face closer to his.

Then I do it.

-Tim's POV-

"Holy fuck. Did Max just fucking kiss Ross?!"

We sat in the bushes, watching the two as they kissed. I was speechless. Ross didn't pull away, and it lasted a good ten seconds. They sat there, completely still, as the wind started to rustle the leaves on the trees.

Finally, they pull away. All they do is look each other in the eyes. I'm still speechless as Adam and Barney rise out of the bush.

We head over to them, being very quiet and acting like we didn't see what just happened.

"Hey guys, what are you doing?" I ask, trying not to squeal.

"U-UM NOTHING!" Ross jumps up, almost hitting Max in the face with his elbow. Even though it was dark, I could tell that Max had turned into a tomato. Ross had a very nervous look on his face, yet seemed very relieved.

"Anyways, let's head back home. It's getting late, and I'm hungry." I say, as Max stands up. He grabs the narwhal and hands it to Ross.

"Y-Yeah."
